Product Information
EXCIPRESS™ Direct Compression Lactose
EXCIPRESS™ Direct Compression Lactose is a range of engineered lactose monohydrate excipients designed to simplify tablet manufacturing while delivering consistent flow, compaction, and blend uniformity. Available in both granulated (GR150) and spray-dried (SD2L) particle technologies, the portfolio enables formulators to select the optimal balance of compressibility and flow characteristics for their formulation requirements. Both grades are manufactured to pharmacopeial standards and are specifically developed for efficient direct compression processes.
Whether developing conventional tablets, effervescent tablets, capsules, or powder sachets, EXCIPRESS™ delivers reliable performance with fewer processing steps than traditional granulation, enabling efficient manufacturing and consistent tablet quality.
Why Choose EXCIPRESS™?
- Engineered specifically for direct compression
- Available in granulated and spray-dried particle technologies
- Excellent compaction performance for robust tablet formation
- Optimized flow properties for consistent die filling and weight uniformity
Available Processing Technologies
EXCIPRESS™ GR150 | Granulated Lactose
Produced through a granulation process, GR150 consists of agglomerated lactose particles that combine strong compaction with good flowability and blending characteristics. Its coarse particle structure makes it an excellent choice for direct compression formulations requiring dependable tablet strength and manufacturing robustness.
EXCIPRESS™ SD2L | Spray-Dried Lactose
Manufactured using spray-drying technology, SD2L features spherical particles with a controlled amorphous lactose content that delivers excellent compaction, very good flowability, and enhanced blend uniformity. It is particularly well suited for direct compression applications where superior powder flow and consistent filling are critical, including low-dose formulations.
