Product Information
Tetronic® EO/PO block copolymers are amine-based tetrafunctional nonionic surfactants. Four EO/PO arms extend from a central ethylenediamine group, giving a four-arm architecture that anchors more strongly at surfaces than linear block copolymers and delivers emulsification, wetting, and hydrotropic performance in health industry formulations. The portfolio is formaldehyde-free, label-free, and thermally and chemically stable, and it reaches molecular weights up to 25,000, well above the standard Pluronic® range.
Key Benefits
- Tetrafunctional emulsifier, wetter, and hydrotrope
- Water soluble across the range
- Moderately biodegradable
- Prill form available for improved handling and storage
- Alkaline pH range of 8 to 10
How to Compare Tetronic® Grades:
- HLB – Determines whether a grade is better suited for oil-in-water (O/W) or water-in-oil (W/O) systems.
- Molecular Weight – Influences viscosity, solubilization, and polymer performance.
- EO Content – Higher EO increases hydrophilicity, while lower EO increases lipophilicity.
- Physical Form –Determines handling and processing fit; available as paste or prill.
Use the chart below by searching by grade, form, or keyword, select any column heading to sort, and page through the results.
| Grade | Form | HLB | EO % | Molecular Weight | Best Fit |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tetronic 904 | Paste | 15 | 40% | 6,700 | Emulsification and wetting |
| Tetronic 1304 | Paste | 14 | 40% | 13,000 | Emulsification and hydrotropy at higher molecular weight |
| Tetronic 1107 | Prill | 24 | 70% | 15,000 | High-HLB emulsification and hydrotropy |
| Tetronic 908 | Prill | 31 | 80% | 25,000 | Highest hydrophilicity and stabilization |
