Product Information

EXCIPURE™ Inhalation Lactose

Engineered lactose carriers for inhalation performance.

Selecting the appropriate lactose carrier begins with understanding the balance between particle size, flowability, and cohesive behavior. These characteristics influence powder handling, API-carrier interactions, and compatibility with dry powder inhaler (DPI) device platforms.

The EXCIPURE™ portfolio spans from coarse carrier particles to finely milled cohesive powders, allowing you to tailor particle-size distribution and powder performance for dry powder inhalers and nasal powder drug-delivery applications. Each grade is manufactured under GMP conditions with tightly controlled particle size specifications to support batch-to-batch consistency throughout development and commercial production.

Select the Right Grade for Your Formulation

Whether you’re optimizing flow properties, increasing cohesive behavior, or tailoring particle size distribution for a specific inhalation device, EXCIPURE offers a lactose grade engineered to support your formulation goals.

Getting more in-depth to choosing the right grade

DPI 111 | Coarse Carrier Lactose

Designed for formulations where robust powder flow and consistent metering are priorities. The coarse particle distribution provides excellent handling characteristics and serves as an effective carrier for micronized APIs. It is commonly selected for reservoir-based inhalers or when flowability is the primary formulation objective.

DPI 231 | Broad Distribution Lactose

A balanced particle size distribution that bridges coarse carriers and fine cohesive powders. DPI 231 offers formulation flexibility by combining moderate flowability with increased cohesive behavior, making it well suited for capsule and blister inhaler platforms or formulations requiring adjustment of fines content.

DPI 223 | Fine Cohesive Lactose

A finely milled lactose grade developed for formulations where cohesive interactions between carrier and micronized API are critical. The increased fines content promotes carrier adhesion and is typically selected for capsule and blister DPI systems requiring cohesive powder performance.

Why Choose EXCIPURE™?
